State pension
This section explains the 1st-pillar old-age pension (Pension Insurance Act, ZOMO) — the retirement age, the conditions for an early pension, and how the amount is worked out. The figures are those HZMO published for 2026, under the decisions in Narodne novine No. 21/2026. This section is not an official HZMO notice and has not been through our final sign-off.
What the pension is made of
The 1st-pillar old-age pension is calculated from your personal points — which depend on your earnings and years of pension service — multiplied by the current pension value (AVM), currently 14,84 € per point (od 1. siječnja 2026.). Two further factors, stated separately by the Pension Insurance Act (ZOMO), are then applied to that product — see the calculation page.
This section is independent, for your own reference. It works from the rules and figures in force for 2026, under ZOMO (Narodne novine No. 96/25 — consolidated text) and the decisions of HZMO’s Upravno vijeće (Narodne novine No. 21/2026). It is not confirmed by HZMO — the results carry no official standing.

Qualifying for an ordinary old-age pension
You qualify once you reach the pension age and hold at least 15 godina of pension service. No provision was found allowing a pension on service alone, regardless of age.
